Open Doors Family Home Providers/Adult Foster Care (FHP/AFC) assumes significant responsibility when deciding to enter the field of Direct Support Professional. Our FHP/AFCs are among the most highly compensated in Kentucky. We base compensation on the level of support needs of each person served.
Providing a home for someone that requires assistance is extremely rewarding emotionally. Some of the responsibilities of being a Family Home Provider/Adult Foster Care include but are not limited to:
- Owning or Renting a home in a safe area that provides a private bedroom that is furnished for the participant.
- Providing assistance with activities of daily living such as personal care, eating, transferring
- Administering medication
- Providing transportation
- Providing recreation or entertainment
- Proper and timely documentation
- Providing a home that ensure dignity and respect
